By the diving boards in the WOs and Sergeants section of the St George's Bay Lido - or just "the
lido". I'm the Boy on the right with my friends Neil Atkinson (centre) and David Chambers. This is
from the summer of 1957 just a month or so prior to my starting at Tal Handaq. I've included the pic
because it shows the pontoons down at the "Other Ranks" section of the lido. The pole jutting out
to sea used to be used for various fun one-on-one fighting competitions by the kids and the adults.
The tall building at the bottom of the bay is the Villa Rosa (now a hotel).
