The Royal Naval School Tal-Handaq 1963
Photo: RNS Tal-Handaq Reunion Association
This photo shows the school as I remember it in 1957 through 1960. The most obvious
differences from the school as it is today are as follows:

There are now covered walkways between classrooms - anyone know when they were
introduced?

There is now an extra block (block-17) situated between the back of the gym and block-5 and
block-6. This block looks different from the other blocks with much larger windows. Anyone
know when it was built?

There are many more trees and garden areas today providing colour and shade. I had forgotten
just how barren the grounds were in my day - still loved the place though!

The open play area to the north of block-8, block-7 and the netball court is now covered in
tarmac. From other photos I have seen I think this must have been done in the late 60's early
70's. Anyone know when?

There is now a small extension at the back of block-6 and another on the north side of block-7.
They have both been there a while but were obviously erected after 1963.

There are now several football pitches.

There is now a small building close to block-7 and the exit gate used as a Handyman workshop.

There is now a group of very small buildings by the netball court (between the gym and block-8).

ps: for some strange reason, re-reading the above notes brought the word "anorak" to mind...
